In terms of vocal versatility, Darryl Weale re-defines the boundaries....expanding the limits to previously unreached levels.

He has gained a wealth of experience in Australia singing music that ranges from classical and musical comedy through jazz, pop and blues to hard rock, with a host of styles in between, earning his dues in various bands & as a solo artist, here & the UK. Returning to Australia, he plunged headlong into country music circles, TV variety shows, plus performances on the Sydney club circuit, singing a wide range of music; adding impressions helped to appeal to audiences even more. He broke new ground as a radio announcer, a natural progression & also appeared as one of the male leads in the Rodgers and Hammerstein play, "South Pacific", along the way winning eisteddfods for singing musical comedy.

His first CD, a self-titled, award-winning album recorded with top-shelf musicians, delivers a wide range of contemporary country and cross-over songs, the majority written by Darryl, showcasing his song-writing skills and his ability to deliver a superlative effort in either up-tempo numbers or slower, romantic ballads: the rollicking exuberance of Damn! You're Pretty! & Boogie-Woogie Baby, the country swing of I'm Still Sentimental Over You, the Texican- flavoured Adios Querida, plus a heart-felt rendition of the country standard You Don't Know Me help to round out an album noted for it's multi-faceted approach.

His second CD, “Odyssey-a musical journey”:

As the title may suggest, it encompasses jazz, swing, blues, country, ballads, standards, even a singalong ditty, with a sea shanty thrown in for good measure(that one's really about pirates & therefore rated aaaarrr)!
There's a feast of Gershwin, Irving Berlin & Fats Waller numbers interpreted & freshened by Darryl to bring out the best in these evergreens: a very up-tempo I Got Rhythm, a plaintive What'll I Do? & the speak-easy fun flavour of The Joint is Jumpin'. These & others are combined with five originals: the swing of So This is Love, the catchy La La Song which you can't help but sing along to, plus three songs written by Darryl...the down & out feel of Empty Bed Blues, the insightful Sometimes & not forgetting the swashbuckling Free.
